in motion.
Engineering the drive systems, motors and integrated actuators behind the next generation of intelligent machines.
Scrolling separates the actuator into six stages: rear cover & connectors, finned housing, encoder board, stator & magnet rotor, output bearing, output flange.
Inside the drive
Six stages on one axis.
Rear cover and connectors, housing, encoder, stator and magnet rotor, output bearing and flange: everything a joint needs, stacked along the axis it turns.

Three headings on the left, the actuator on the right, which take the focus one after another as you scroll (or follow a heading to go to its beat). Control testing: on a dynamometer bench the controller drives the actuator forward, holds it and reverses it under load, with illustrative readings of speed, torque, following error and a dial on the flange reading under one micron. Health monitoring: a data-acquisition module seats on the housing with an accelerometer on the output bearing and a temperature sensor at the winding; its casing turns to glass, and three illustrative graphs tell the story: a vibration spectrum whose outer-race peak is growing, an anomaly score crossing its threshold, and a health index projected to the failure threshold with the planned service some 14,000 hours ahead; predictive health is active and every unit has a test-data record. Plug and play, a design concept: an inspection drone, a heavy-lift quadrotor with a sensor gimbal, built from eight self-contained actuator modules across four architectures. First the modules float apart, each doing its own job; then the four rotor modules twist-lock onto the arms at once, the two landing-gear legs lock under the body and the gimbal onto the turret, the modules find each other and share one model; then it runs: the props spin up, it lifts off, folds its gear, glides with the gimbal aimed down, and sweeps down past the camera into the next section. It talks ROS 2, CAN-FD and EtherCAT, with setup in two days as published.
On the test bench a dynamometer loads the output while the controller drives it forward, holds it and reverses it. The dial on the flange reads less than one micron (a thousandth of a millimetre).
