Three headings on the left, the actuator on the right, which take the focus one after another as you scroll (or follow a heading to go to its beat). Control testing: on a dynamometer bench the controller drives the actuator forward, holds it and reverses it under load, with illustrative readings of speed, torque, following error and a dial on the flange reading under one micron. Health monitoring: a data-acquisition module seats on the housing with an accelerometer on the output bearing and a temperature sensor at the winding; its casing turns to glass, and three illustrative graphs tell the story: a vibration spectrum whose outer-race peak is growing, an anomaly score crossing its threshold, and a health index projected to the failure threshold with the planned service some 14,000 hours ahead; predictive health is active and every unit has a test-data record. Plug and play, a design concept: an inspection drone, a heavy-lift quadrotor with a sensor gimbal, built from eight self-contained actuator modules across four architectures. First the modules float apart, each doing its own job; then the four rotor modules twist-lock onto the arms at once, the two landing-gear legs lock under the body and the gimbal onto the turret, the modules find each other and share one model; then it runs: the props spin up, it lifts off, folds its gear, glides with the gimbal aimed down, and sweeps down past the camera into the next section. It talks ROS 2, CAN-FD and EtherCAT, with setup in two days as published.

  1. On the test bench a dynamometer loads the output while the controller drives it forward, holds it and reverses it. The dial on the flange reads less than one micron (a thousandth of a millimetre).

One platform,
from joint to fleet.

Precision drives, deterministic control and a software layer that keeps improving each machine, from first commissioning through its working life.

Section and end view of an illustrative integrated actuator, its rotor turning slowly. Callouts: mechanics, the reducer and cross-roller bearing; magnetics, the stator and magnets; drive, the inverter and windings; feedback, the encoder.
MECHANICS / MAGNETICS / DRIVE / FEEDBACK

Motors, transmissions, bearings, sensing and electronics developed as an integrated motion system.

An illustrative configuration console. Discover finds a host bridge on ROS 2, joints j1 and j2 on CAN-FD and joint j3 on EtherCAT; calibrate sets j1's offset, finds its encoder index and checks its direction; run puts j1 in position mode.
DEVELOPMENT INTERFACES: ROS 2 / CAN-FD / ETHERCAT

An SDK and interface layer intended to simplify discovery, configuration, calibration and robot integration.

Sim-to-real: a joint's simulated trace and its trace on the hardware, which closes onto the simulated one over four iterations. The learned policy, an outer loop, reaches deterministic real-time control only through bounded commands; the safety path runs separately to the actuator. Illustrative, not measured data.
SIM-TO-REAL / COMMISSIONING / OUTER-LOOP POLICIES

Simulation-to-hardware workflows, assisted commissioning and higher-level adaptive policies—with bounded commands to deterministic control.

An illustrative digital birth record: the unit's serial, build, calibration and firmware, its calibration curve inside the tolerance band and its end-of-line, calibration and burn-in stamps, all passed; beside it, the unit's health over its life, restored by a service, with a predicted continuation toward reuse.
TELEMETRY / DIGITAL BIRTH RECORD / SERVICE & REUSE

Serial-linked calibration and test data form the foundation for diagnostics, digital twins, service history and predictive health.

Deterministic at the core

AI and reinforcement learning support design, commissioning and higher-level adaptation. Real-time motion control and the safety path remain separate.
